For almost a century, a class of vessel has existed in Northern Ireland that is older than the country itself. This fleet of around 22 boats is split between the yacht clubs of Belfast Lough and Lough Erne. The hope of this site and its supporters, enthusiasts and sailors, both online and through the Royal North and Lough Erne Yacht Clubs, is to preserve this classic fleet for future centuries and generations of sailors.
To that end, we have put together this site as a means to consolidate the history and personal knowledge of the thousands of people across Northern Ireland who have seen and experienced these vessels first hand. This experience can vary from personally owning one of the boats, sailing as crew, maintenance work or perhaps having a relative who had first hand experience with them.
