Lloyds Register of Yachts 1908
‘Mousme’ was originally built in 1907 alongside the second batch of Enniskillen Yacht Club (EYC) boats. She was built to a modified design, incorporating a Yawl rig and sailing cruiser configuration. She was orignally commisoned as ‘Gipsy’ but this appears to have been changed when the boat came to Belfast. She sailed around Dublin under the ownership of a Mr. R. Reid Thompson for several years before being purchased by Tom Gaffikin in 1919 and brought to Cultra. With her reconstruction as a ‘true’ Fairy, came the addition of the sail No.11 that previously belonged to ‘Oberon.’ She was modified again in 1925 to Bermudian rig, along with the rest of her RNIYC sisters. She has sailed at Cultra for 102 years.
