Northern-Whig, 1925
Sheevra was the 3rd Fairy commissioned for the RNIIYC, being a very successful boat during the pre and inter war eras. Despite being the 3rd boat of the fleet, she was given the sail No.4. This was done as the general consensus at the time, was that it was easily confused with the No.8. In August 1925 the boat was declared a total loss, similar to her sister ‘Iolanthe’ after breaking from her mooring and colliding with the shore. She was rebuilt over the falling years before re-joining the fleet at Cultra. This rebuild would make Sheevra the first Fairy to be built by someone other than Hilditch. She converted to Bermudian rig a few years after the rest of the class of RNIYC boats.
